Resumen

El historiador Blanco reflexiona en este artículo acerca de cómo la crónica es un método historiográfico del que ningún historiador escapa, o de cómo “el trabajo historiográfico es inevitablemente subjetivo e imaginario en buena medida, y más aún cuando el historiógrafo no se da cuenta de los alcances de su propia subjetividad”. La historia se construye y se alimenta de la crónica, va y viene en ese proceso constructivo.

Abstract

Blanco reflects on how the chronicle is a historiographic method, from which no historian escapes and how “historiographic work is inevitably subjective and imaginative, especially when the historian doesn´t understand the effects of his own subjectivity.” History is built and is fed by the chronicle, in a pendular process.

Resumen

El autor expone los hilos con los que se entreteje la historia de maneras novedosas en la narrativa novelada de Manzoni, Stendhal y Sciascia, escritores que han abrevado en documentos y que traen a la luz la peste en Italia, la batalla de Waterloo; en sus obras, los personajes experimentan y viven las hambrunas, la enfermedad y la guerra desde un punto de vista humano y realista. En las novelas de esos autores, la imaginación tiene un papel central para la construcción de otras formas de narrativa de la historia.

Abstract

The author presents the threads with which history is interwoven in innovative ways in the narratives of Manzoni, Stendhal, and Sciascia, novelists who have studied historical documents that bring to light the Italian plague or the battle of Waterloo, for example. The characters experience and live hunger, disease and war from a human and realistic perspective. In  these novels imagination plays a key role in the construction of other options for historical narrative.

Resumen

Escrituras de la historia pone sobre la mesa la llamada historia cultural, que surgió en un contexto en el que se cuestionaron las formas de ver y hacer historia. La función de la escritura como recurso de poder u objetividad fue contrastada con las jerarquías dadas en ciertas sociedades a la vista, el oído y la narración de lo visto o de lo escuchado como criterios de la verdad.

Abstract

Writings of History puts so-called cultural history on the table, a subject that arose in a context in which ways of seeing and making history were questioned. The function of writing as both a resource of power or objectivity was contrasted with the hierarchies that certain societies give to sight, hearing, and the narration of what was seen or heard as criteria of truth.

Esta reflexión destaca los elementos más importantes de las entrevistas realizadas a diversos historiadores acerca de las formas de entender y escribir sobre el pasado. Historia, representación y lenguaje son las inquietudes que se exploran en el quehacer histórico, incluso desde la apropiación y la introspección que parecieran estar fuera a la hora de comprender, analizar y escribir la investigación histórica.

El texto relata la masacre de Charleston en Carolina del Sur realizada por un joven racista contra personalidades de la comunidad negra. Señala que las narraciones falseadas de la historia pueden formar creencias y sentimientos en la población además de avalar al poder, abriendo una disputa por la historia.

Resumen: En este comentario al libro de Florescano, se enfatiza el peso de los imaginarios de cada época y lugar para demoler o reinventar las funciones sociales de la historia. Se relativizan estas funciones por la transformación continua, material y de creencias, de las sociedades. La historia y sus funciones están por eso en un continuo tejer y destejer.

Abstract: This commentary towards Florescano’s book, emphasizes the weight of imageries, on different ages and places, for demolishing or reinventing the social functions of history. The importance of these had been diminished due to the continuous material and ideological changes of societies. That is why history and its functions are on a permanent chopping and changing.
