Resumen
A partir del Seminario permanente de la fiesta en México, se analiza la fiesta patronal del pueblo de San Pedro Mártir, ubicado en la alcaldía de Tlalpan, Ciudad de México. La pregunta que sirve de eje para este trabajo es ¿Qué es la fiesta para los habitantes del pueblo de San Pedro Mártir? Desde la perspectiva de la historia oral se señala que la fiesta patronal es primordial para la cohesión e identidad de los pobladores, es un momento en el que se construyen colectivos, relaciones sociales y se expresa la vida simbólica de un grupo social. La fiesta responde al contexto de la comunidad, no es estática; expresa un proceso dinámico porque conlleva a una construcción de memoria en tanto permite entender cómo se vive un presente sin romper con el orgullo de un pasado colectivo, así como con la expectativa preservar la identidad y cohesión de un grupo social.

Abstract
The celebration of the patron saint's day in the town of San Pedro Mártir, in the municipality of Tlalpan, in Mexico City is analyzed based on the premises of the Fiesta Seminar. The central question for this text is: what is the fiesta for the inhabitants of the town of San Pedro Mártir? From the perspective of oral history, the patron saint’s fiesta is fundamental for the cohesion and identity of the inhabitants; it is a moment in which collectives and social relations are built and the symbolic life of a social group is expressed. The fiesta responds to the context of the community, it is not static; it expresses a dynamic process because it implies a construction of memory insofar as it allows for an understanding of how the present is lived without breaking away from the pride of a collective past, as well as from the expectation to preserve the identity and cohesion of a social group.
